RIP

my poor handphone has finally reached its limits. alas, it has served me well. hmph. i think it broke cause a lot of ppl cursing it.. *ahem ahem to ze,carmen, pei ying, nat, di, em, lun and a few others that i can't remember* hmph. its all your fault. hahaha. so i haven't been replying people.. sorry!!! so busyyyy.. i won't be blogging anytime soon. fullll schedule ahead. music camp. haha. this time instead of playing in the orchestra i shall be SINGING. haha. today was the first day.. i think i would prefer playing the violin. not so boring. this one some more need to learn german pronounciation. very weird words. all the w must sound like v and the b and d's must sound like t. we're singing.. beethoven's 9th symphone. it was such a coincidence that on the very day that i had the practice, i watched "get smart", i know i'm out'dated.. well anyway.. i first noticed ode to joy playing.. then i was like.. "mom! this is the song we're singing." could hear more of the song in the ending.. where the guy *i forgot his name* jumped at the conductor to prevent the last notes ( to ppl who haven't seen it: the bomb is activated by the end of the song. once the song finishes, the bomb will explode) i sincerely hope and doubt it'll happen at out concert. haha. it was nice.. combining with the orchestra. makes me miss going to orchestra. but oh well. aha. anywaysss.. my dad got me a new phone. i still have to charge it for 12 hours so i still can't reply you ppl. sorry! and sorry cyn! we suppose to get the same phone but i didn't pick my phone. dad went to buy without me cause i was at the camp the whole time..
its.. black. with camera, blue tooth, video, all the normal stuff. that's all i know bout it. haha.

anyways. on with the Korean Goguryo Art Orchestra that i went for aeons ago but never had the time to blog about. haha. it was awesome! at first the drums was out.. there was one guy who played with so much "feelings" that he's head was banging. i wonder if he gets headaches. the dances. ok, nice. the drums once again.. this time they were wearing this hat that had some kind of ribbon? that moves behind them. so those drummers had to keep the beat and spin and dance. and some of us knows how hard it is to even keep four different beats. haha. dancing was quite nice too. singing was ok only. he sangthe winter sonata song and the lady sand the jewel in the palace song. both.. ok.. i think the guys voice suits happy songs only. haha. the orchestra was nice. everything was nice. i didn't even feel sleepy. for once. haha. anyways.. to know more..

The concert on Thursday evening began with thundering drum rolls in ‘Samulnori’, an act by a vibrant percussion ensemble using traditional percussion instruments common in farmers’ music and dance.

The second item was a traditional piece called ‘Quejina Ching Ching’. With a modern interpretation, the piece had a hint of jazz.

The orchestra demonstrated further how well the old could mix with the new in a sorrowful song called ‘Samogok’ about a missing mother.

The musicians used the Pansori technique, which was popular in the 19th century for satires and love stories, while singer Ahn Hyeran’s beautiful popular music-style vocals gave the song a modern touch.

Ahn accompanied by the orchestra with a cheerful folk song called ‘Baetieora’ (Float a Ship) and ‘Ohnara’, the theme song for the famous ‘Daejanggum’ (Jewel in the Palace).

The Koreans then unleashed a masterpiece performance by their female dance troupe that took the audience’s breath away with their fan dance.

Dressed in beautiful red hanbok, the dancers with large decorated fans, used by female shamans in rituals, ‘hypnotised’ the audience with their brilliant and graceful twirling.

The ladies got the audience clapping and cheering as they cleverly used their fans to create blossoming flower and waves patterns.

The orchestra continued with a drum performance.

The drum rolls were accompanied by the piercing tunes of the traditional Korean trumpet before the act ended with a bang.

The show took a different turn when musician Kim Mijung took to the stage for a solo performance of the folk song ‘Doraji’, playing the 25-string Korean kayakoum.

Unlike the last powerful number, this performance was slower paced and gave the audience a chance to listen to every musical note produced by the traditional instrument.

The fan dancers returned again but this time, the ladies were armed with short replica swords (Kal) for the Sword Dance. The audience were also entertained with the popular ‘Winter Sonata’ drama series theme song, the famous break-up song ‘Eoi-i-ga-na’, and a happy number called ‘Ariyo’.The orchestra also performed the beautiful modern melody from Korean drama ‘Gung’ (The Palace) using the fiddle-like two-string Haegeum. The next number ‘Sogochum’ (Sogo Dance) was a head turner, literally, as the dancers and percussionists surprised everyone by entering the hall from the entrance behind the audience.

Check yes Juliet
Are you with me?
Rain is falling down on the sidewalk
I won't go until you come outside.

Check yes Juliet
Kill the limbo
I'll keep tossing rocks at your window
There's no turning back for us tonight. the time when he was waiting for her outside..

Lace up your shoes
Eh Oh Eh Ohhh
Here's how we do:

Run, baby, run
Don't ever look back.
They'll tear us apart
If you give them the chance.
Don't sell your heart.
Don't say we are not meant to be.
Run, baby, run.
Forever we'll be Maya wanna kill her cause she's jealous. maya
You and me. killed her a few times.. and lied..

Check yes Juliet
I'll be waiting
Wishing, wanting
Yours for the taking.
Just sneak out
And don't tell a soul goodbye. which was what she did
Check yes Juliet
Here's the countdown
3... 2... 1... now fall in my arms now
They can change the locks true, true. haha.
Don't let them change your mind

Lace up your shoes
Eh Oh Eh Ohhh
Here's how we do

Run, baby, run repetitive
Don't ever look back
They'll tear us apart
If you give them the chance
Don't sell your heart
Don't say we are not meant to be
Run baby run
Forever we'll be
You and me

We're flying through the night literally. haha.
We're flying through the night
Way up high,
The view from here is getting better with
You by my side

Run baby run
Don't ever look back
They'll tear us apart
If you give them the chance
Don't sell your heart
Don't say we are not meant to be
Run baby run
Forever we'll be...

Run baby run
Don't ever look back
They'll tear us apart
If you give them the chance
Don't sell your heart
Don't say we are not meant to be
Run baby run
Forever we'll be
You and me
You and me
You and me
